Certification Training Manual for Commercial Pesticide Applicators and Technicians and Private Pesticide Applicators (NY Commercial Category 5, including Subcategories 5A, 5B, and 5C, and Private Category 41). This training manual prepares commercial pesticide applicators and technicians who are seeking certification to use and/or (in the case of applicators) supervise the use of pesticides applied purposefully to standing or running water (excluding applicators engaged in public health-related activities). This includes but is not limited to the control of: algae and weeds in swimming pools and in any surface waters of the State; aquatic insects such as mosquito and black fly larvae and miscellaneous aquatic organisms such as mollusks, leeches, and snails; and unwanted fish including sea lamprey. The manual is also for private applicators who wish to control aquatic vegetation and insects (as in farm ponds).
